Eskiden "Scramble" vardı... Bizdeki ek kontenjan gibi. SOAP daha sistematik bir işleyiş getiriyor. Hiç tecrübemiz yok henüz, bu durumu yaşayan birileri varsa paylaşırlarsa çok iyi olur aslında.

NRMP SUPPLEMENTAL OFFER AND ACCEPTANCE PROGRAM (SOAP)

The NRMP is implementing the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP) for the 2012 NRMP Match. SOAP replaces what was known formerly as "the Scramble." The NRMP has developed this standardized and uniform process for those applicants who do not secure a residency position or who are only partially matched through the NRMP Main Match and for those residency training programs that have training positions unfilled by the Main Match and are seeking eligible applicants.

What is SOAP?

- SOAP is a series of rounds during which programs make offers; it is not a second Match.
- Applicants express preferences by applying to programs through ERAS.
- Programs express preferences with lists of applicants in the NRMP Registration, Ranking, and Results (R3) System.
- Through the R3 System, program offers are extended to applicants.
- Applicants could receive multiple offers in any round.
- Positions offered and accepted during SOAP establish a binding commitment enforced by the NRMP Match Participation Agreement.

To be eligible to participate in SOAP, an international medical student/graduate must, among other requirements:

- Have registered for the 2012 Main Residency Match.
- Be fully or partially unmatched.
- Have taken and passed the examinations necessary for ECFMG Certification.

During SOAP, eligible applicants:

- Can access the List of Unfilled Programs for those positions for which they are eligible.
- Can apply only to unfilled Match-participating programs.
- Must use ERAS to apply to programs.
- Cannot use phone, fax, e-mail, or other services to contact programs.
- Cannot have another individual/entity (including medical school) contact programs.
- Can accept positions only through SOAP during Match week.
- Cannot apply to non-Match participating programs until after Match week.

Ineligible applicants cannot participate in SOAP and will not have access to the List of Unfilled Programs.

Friday, March 9
The R3 System will notify all applicants by e-mail of their eligibility to participate in SOAP.

Monday, March 12
12:00 p.m. Eligible applicants will have access to the List of Unfilled Programs.

1:00 p.m. Applicants will begin selecting programs using ERAS.

2:00 p.m. ERAS begins to transmit applications to programs.

Wednesday, March 14
12:00 p.m. First program offers are sent.

Applicants will receive offer notifications by e-mail generated through the R3 System. They will then login to the R3 System to accept/reject offer and will receive an e-mail notification when an offer is accepted and a binding commitment is established. The SOAP participation status will be updated with each round.

Friday, March 16
5:00 p.m. SOAP ends.

All times are calculated using Eastern Time in the United States.

To obtain detailed information on SOAP, applicants should visit the NRMP website. The NRMP has provided webcasts regarding SOAP at www.nrmp.org/communication.html ; you will need Adobe Reader version 9.0 and Adobe Flash 10.0 to view these webcasts. To access SOAP information for applicants in printable format, visit www.nrmp.org/res_match/userguide/2012_soapapps.pdf .
